You can walk in feeling good about your week.
Then you glance sideways — at their numbers, their pace, their highlight reel — and suddenly the progress you were proud of five minutes ago feels like falling behind.
Nothing actually changed. Your week was exactly as good as it was before you looked. Comparison just handed you a problem you didn’t have yesterday.
The trouble is everyone’s measuring from a different starting line. You’re seeing someone’s chapter twenty and quietly marking yourself against it from chapter three. That’s not a fair fight, and it was never meant to be one.
In here this week, grip is going to be the limiter — the work rewards people who run their own pace and break before their hands give out, not the ones who white-knuckle to keep up with the person next to them. The same is true outside the gym.
Your only honest comparison is you, last week.
So this week, when you catch yourself measuring against someone else, gently bring it back. Ask the better question: am I moving forward from where I started?
Run your own race. It’s the only one you can actually win.
