Some weeks don’t go to plan.

The alarm gets ignored. The schedule slides. By Wednesday you’re convinced you’ve already blown it, so why bother with the rest.

Here’s the quiet truth though: momentum isn’t built on the days you feel unstoppable. Anyone can train when they’re fired up. Momentum is built on the ordinary days — the tired ones, the flat ones, the ones where you turn up at 60% and do the thing anyway.

It works the same outside the gym.

The email you didn’t feel like sending. The walk you almost skipped. The conversation you kept putting off.

Motivation is a nice bonus when it shows up. But it’s a terrible boss to wait on. Showing up doesn’t require you to feel ready — it just requires you to begin, badly if you have to.

So this week, lower the bar for what counts. A short session still counts. Ten minutes still counts.

Starting halfway through the week still counts.

Don’t wait to feel like it. Show up, and let the feeling catch up to you.
