From Toes on a Box to Jumping Pull-Ups: The Power of Progressions
Progressions turn ‘I can’t’ into ‘not yet’. See how a Sixty7Six member went from pull-up holds on a box to jumping pull-ups, one step at a time.
Almost everyone has a movement they’d love to own one day. A pull-up is a classic. The dream is clear; the path to it is what feels foggy, especially when it seems like you either can or can’t.
That’s where a lot of people get stuck. Faced with a bar that feels impossible, they decide it’s just not for them and quietly steer around it forever. The gap between where they are and where they want to be looks like one giant leap.
It isn’t. It’s a staircase. One of our members started with her toes on a box, holding the top position of a pull-up and then lowering herself down slowly under control. Same shape, same muscles, just dialled to where she was. Step by step that control built, and today she’s doing jumping pull-ups — a completely different athlete. Every coach here can hand you the next sensible step, so there’s always something a little more exciting just ahead.
Whatever your one-day movement is, it almost certainly has a staircase leading to it. Come and let a coach show you your first step. Browse our gymnastics progressions to see what’s possible.
