Some workouts are about pure strength.
Some are about conditioning.
And some — like this one — are designed to teach you how to combine both.
This session starts with Clean & Jerks, then moves into a conditioning piece that challenges pacing, efficiency, and fatigue management.
Part 1: Clean & Jerk – Building Strength & Skill
The first part of this session focuses on six rounds of Clean & Jerks, every two and a half minutes, building toward a heavy lift.
This isn’t just about moving weight.
It’s about refining:
• Hook grip and setup
• Bar path close to the body
• Full squat clean position
• Stable jerk overhead
The goal is smooth, efficient movement — because efficiency matters even more when weights get heavy.
Part 2: Conditioning – Strategy Under Fatigue
After lifting, the workout shifts into three rounds of:
• Row
• Box jump overs
• Thrusters
At first glance, it looks straightforward.
But the real challenge is pacing.
The Biggest Mistake: Going Too Hard Too Early
The row can be deceptive.
Push too hard, and your legs are fatigued before you even reach the box.
That means:
• Slower transitions
• Heavier legs for jumps
• Less power for thrusters
This is why we coach members to find a pace that is fast…but sustainable.
Movement Efficiency Matters
Box Jump Overs:
The goal is rhythm, not wasted movement.
Finding a consistent pattern saves time and energy.
Thrusters:
Full range of motion matters.
Squat depth + overhead lockout = quality reps.
What This Workout Really Teaches
This isn’t just about fitness.
It’s about learning to:
• Pace strategically
• Move efficiently
• Hold technique under fatigue
Because the best workouts don’t just make you tired…They make you better 💙
