There’s a version of getting better that’s really just getting busier.

More on the calendar. More projects half-open. More weight on the bar. It feels like progress because there’s visibly more of it — but underneath, nothing has actually been made steady. You’ve just given the wobble more to work with.

The unglamorous truth is that most things fall over at the base, not the top.

That’s what Week 2 is really for. Week 1 you found the positions. This week we add load to them — and the load will tell you the truth about whether you actually own those positions or were just visiting. A push press from 60% that’s strict and clean is worth more than a heavier one that bends in the middle. Same with a front squat at 70% you can hold honestly.

It works the same outside here. Before you add the next thing, ask whether the last thing is standing on its own yet.

So this week, resist the urge to pile on.

Pick one thing — a lift, a habit, a routine at home — and instead of making it bigger, make it solid. Steady it until it doesn’t need you propping it up.

Then add. That’s when adding actually counts.
