Think about the last time you hung on to something longer than you meant to.
A conversation. A job. A week that needed a rest day three days ago.
You probably didn’t decide to let go of it. It slipped, and then you told yourself a story about why.
That’s the thing about hanging on — it never feels like a choice while you’re doing it. It feels like the only option. And the longer you leave it, the less say you get in how it ends.
This week the workouts make that very literal. There’s grip everywhere — toes-to-bar, chest-to-bar pull-ups, a rope climb, a heavy deadlift — and every one of them will try to talk you into holding on for two more reps than you actually have.
Break early instead. Not because you’re tired, but because you picked the number before you got there. Ten and ten, rather than eighteen and a fall.
The set you break on purpose is the one you come back from. The set that breaks you costs you the next three.
So this week, choose your stopping point before you need one.
On the bar, and off it.
