Twelve members, twelve different bar muscle-up variations, one class. See how Sixty7Six scales a skill so everyone trains the same goal at their own level.

A bar muscle-up is the kind of skill people put on a pedestal — the thing you’ll get to “one day,” once you’re finally strong enough or skilled enough. The dream is vivid; the route there is what most people can’t picture.

So the goal sits on the shelf. It looks like a single, faraway feat you either can or can’t do, and that all-or-nothing framing is exactly what keeps it out of reach for years.

A recent class showed how differently it can work. Twelve members, every single one on a different bar muscle-up variation. Scott was doing full bar muscle-ups.

Connie was building lat engagement with a hollow hold over a box, pushing down and pulling her knees toward her chest. Laura was jumping into a hollow hold and driving hips to bar. Chloe was on low-bar jumping bar muscle-ups; Sue and Adam on high-bar jumping versions.

One goal, twelve doorways in. The progression itself is a toolbox — lat activation, then low-bar jumping, then high-bar, then hips to bar, then hips to bar with lat activation, then banded — and it doesn’t matter how big the class is or where you sit on that ladder. There’s always an option that moves you up a rung.

Whatever your “one day” skill is — and a bar muscle-up is really just learning to jump a fence — there’s a doorway in for you today. Explore our gymnastics progressions, then come find your rung.
