This October, we're proud to be holding a silent auction in support of Telethon and Perth Children's Hospital. For us, this cause is close to home.
A story from our own gym
Our coach Kirsty, her husband Eddie and the Holder family know first-hand just how important children's healthcare is.
When their daughter Asha was just two days old, she underwent emergency surgery for a gut malrotation. At just 13 months old, Asha and her family spent six weeks in Sydney under the care of Westmead Children's Hospital, where she had life-changing surgery to restore blood flow through her liver.
There were terrifying moments, countless hospital hours, and an incredible team of doctors, surgeons and nurses working to give their little girl the best possible chance.
Asha is here today because of that care, and because hospitals like Perth Children's Hospital are there when our kids need them most.
Why a silent auction
That's why Telethon means so much to the Holder family, and why we wanted to do something real as a gym community.
A silent auction felt like the right way to do it. It gets everyone involved, it's a bit of fun, and you walk away with something you actually wanted, knowing your money went somewhere that matters. When something touches one of our own, it touches all of us, and this is how we're rallying around it together.
What's up for grabs
There's a genuine mix on offer. Vouchers, wine, car care and more lots being added as they come in. So it's worth checking back, because something new might land with your name on it.
How to get involved
Getting involved takes two minutes. Find an item you like, write your name, contact details and offer on its bid sheet, and check back to see if you've been outbid. The highest bid when the auction closes wins. Bidding is open now and closes at 11:30am on Saturday 17 October.
And there's one more way you help just by showing up. For every person who comes along, the gym donates $10 directly to the cause.
